Custom Industrial has taken the South African furniture industry by storm with our unique handcrafted furniture pieces, boldly boasting today’s modern industrial loft feeling. Our pieces are the cause of many home and business owners’ space becoming a beautiful topic of discussion. True to our name, furniture is also custom designed to suit the needs of the client by our qualified in-house designers, including specially made bars, counters, gates and staircases.

The brand was born out of a need for custom-made industrial furniture, when founder Gerhard van Rooyen needed to furnish his office space and could not find the exact look and feel that he had in mind in local stores and catalogues. Gerhard then decided to design and create his own pieces, with strong lines and beautiful, locally sourced woods, paired with bold metals and the dimensions best suited for his office space. Clients entering the office space were so impressed with the furniture that orders soon poured in for their own space to be custom-designed, and the rest is history.

Custom Industrial pairs textured woods with modern metal finishes, resulting in a simple yet rugged factory-styled look. Our furniture is made using locally sourced, repurposed woods, specialising in beautifully weathered pine wood, as well as a roughly textured timber. These woods are paired with square and rectangular tube metals as well as galvanised pipes, with each metal receiving a powder-coated treatment and resulting in their stylised black matt finish.
